Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
The all-time points leader for the oldest and most storied hockey franchise in existence, Guy Lafleur remains the Montreal Canadiens’ king of scoring despite the almost four-decade gap since his last Habs appearance, with The Flower sadly passing away in the spring of 2022. We offer a signed stick used the Blond Demon in 1980-81, a season that witnessed 70 points in just 51 games. A Sher-Wood PMP 5030 model with “Lafleur G” and “10” stamped to the upper shaft, there is a date stamp on the lower underside of “18 Dec 1980”, with the striping accent intact. The original black tape remains over the blade and white to the shaved handle and knob, with Lafleur adding a dark and flawless blue marker signature to the lower shaft. The stick exhibits light use, and was possibly used after Lafleur, as the underside blade is quite worn, showing use off the ice. There is also some red paint transfer to the lower shaft and a few specks of white paint to the upper shaft. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
