Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
The greatness of Terry Sawchuk early in his NHL career is told in part by the write-up on the back of his 1953-54 Parkhurst card, the text commencing, "Terry is ranked among the greatest goaltenders to ever mind a net" and going onto tell of his Calder Trophy in '50-51 , his two Vezina Trophy wins and his three All-Star Team selections - what a start to an illustrious career - with Terry backstopping the Red Wings to the Stanley Cup the same season as cards like this were discovered in Parkie packs. The offered card exhibits toning and light peripheral wear and has received a mark of 4 VGE from KSA. A scratch and a scuff to the front of the KSA holder are noteworthy. It should also be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this card through any of those services, therefore would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
