Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Earning 74 points during the 1964-65 NHL season – enough for a fourth-place finish, the Toronto Maple Leafs were led in scoring by Frank Mahovlich, with Terry Sawchuk producing 17 wins and earning the Vezina Trophy (along with Johnny Bower). Facing Jean Beliveau and the rival Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup semifinals, the Leafs would lose the series in six games. We have a stick team-signed by 19 members of the 1964-65 Leafs. A generic full-size, straight-blade model with “6” stamped to the upper shaft, there is electrical tape to the blade, with all 19 signing one side of the shaft – mostly in ballpoint, including HOFers Tim Horton (nice bold example), George Armstrong, Allan Stanley (somewhat light), Dickie Moore, Dave Keon, Frank Mahovlich, Johnny Bower (dark), Andy Bathgate and Red Kelly, along with Stewart, Harris, Brewer (2), Ellis, Shack and a few others. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
