Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
An original member of the Montreal Canadiens who played in the club's first game, George "Skinner" Poulin is depicted in a Canadiens sweater here but had gone west and joined the Victoria Aristocrats when the scarce 1912-13 C57 set was issued. Poulin would however return to Montreal and help the Habs win their first Stanley Cup in 1915-16. Poulin's VG 3 example is joined by a GOOD+ 2.5 card of another early Canadien, Eugene Payan, the latter suiting up for Montreal from 1910-11 to '13-14 in the National Hockey Association. Two attractive cards for your C57/tobacco card stash, with no unsightly scratches to the PSA holders to report.
