Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
From the days of the World Hockey Association come these collectibles, housed in two binders and inserted into rather ancient-looking “BCW-9T” pages. A complete 66-card set from 1974-75 starts off with #1-The Howes in VG condition and VG to EX looks like the range of many, with intermittent corner dings and creases observed and some nicer examples also to come upon. Similar is a batch of ’75-76s, with Mark Howe’s RC at VG, Gordie applying a nice blue autograph to his regular (#100) issue (two creases) and his missing All-Star card making for a near set (131/132). The 1-Bobby Hull card is VG+ at first glance but paper loss on the back lowers it further. You can expect superior condition in a binder home to ’76-77 (EX to NM dominate) and ’77-78 (mostly NM or better) representatives, with the former gathering (130/132) missing Bobby Hull’s regular and All-Star cards and the latter complete at 66. The (4) checklists throughout are unmarked but all but the last are multi-creased and low grade. Still, Gordie and Bobby and other WHA history-writers will provide some fun/entertainment upon their arrival.
