Helping the Montreal Canadiens finish in third place in the Adams Division with his team-leading 97 points which included 39 goals, Vincent Damphousse also led the Habs through the Stanley Cup playoffs in 1992-93, with his 23 points including a trio of game winners topping the club. First defeating province-rival Quebec, the bleu blanc rouge then slipped past Buffalo and the Islanders before crushing Wayne Gretzky and the Los Angeles Kings in five games to claim the franchise’s 24th championship – which also served as the most recent victory north of the border. We have a photo-matched Canadiens jersey worn by Damphousse during the 1993 Stanley Cup finals, along with a signed stick used by Damphousse with the Habs during the mid-1990s. With Montreal donning their red road jerseys in Games 3 and 4 in Los Angeles, this specimen sports Maska labeling to the collar along with a size “54” fly tag, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests to the reverse hem. Featuring the classic Canadiens team crest in layered tackle twill, “25” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in white-over-blue twill, with “Damphousse” in white across the attached red nameplate. The Stanley Cup finals patch has been affixed to the right breast over the Stanley Cup centennial crest. Exhibiting nice game-use with marks, scrapes and burns to the front and sleeves, a number of team repairs are also visible, with example situated on the front (4), shoulders (1) and sleeves (15). Getty Image #504914731 (June 5, 1993) has been matched to the angled placement of the reverse #2 in comparison to the bottom middle white stripe. The stick is a Sher-Wood PMP 5030 model with “Damphousse” and “25” stamped to the upper shaft, with the original black tape to the blade and red to the handle. The stick shows light use, with Damphousse signing the heel in marker. Each item comes with an LOA.
