Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022

Scoring at least 30 goals in each of his first nine NHL seasons, Mike Gartner skated for six different clubs throughout his HOF career, and holds a number of Washington Capital franchise records, including the longest point streak (17 games). In 1991–92, he became the first player in NHL history to score his 500th goal, 500th assist, 1000th point and play in his 1000th game all in the same season. From the 1989-90 season where Gartner first saw action in 67 games for the Minnesota North Stars, followed by 12 games with the New York Rangers after being traded to the club on March 6, 1990, we have a stick used by the Ottawa native that hails from the Barry Meisel collection. A Titan TPM 3020 model with “M Gartner” stamped to the upper shaft, the original black tape remains over the handle, with the blade tape removed (outline visible). There are numerous marks to the shaft and blade, with small areas of red paint transfer to the lower shaft.
