Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022

Putting up a total of 34 wins in 54 games played during the 2017-18 National Hockey League season, Braden Holtby was the man the Washington Capitals could count on when it came to holding down the fort from opposing players. Turning it on even more in the playoffs that season, Holtby would capture all 16 of the necessary wins needed to hoist the Stanley Cup over his head. Presented here from that very era is a CCM Premier II stick used by Holtby, photo-matched to Game 6 of the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs vs Carolina, on April 22, 2019 (Holtby used this specific type of model in 2017-18 and 2018-19). Presenting in beautiful condition, the stick remains fully intact with no cracks or breaks. An eye catching blue and white colourway, Holtby’s original tape job remains on the blade, handle, and knob with some of the grip tape on the shaft torn most likely from goal post contact. Goal post paint transfer is found prevalently on the back side of the stick, particularly on the upper shaft and near the heel. Puck marks are found throughout but the stick is free from any kind of structural damage. Factory serial number and barcode stickers are affixed to the backside of the shaft. An image from Game 6 of the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs vs Carolina, on April 22, 2019 has been matched to a few marks on the blade near the heel, including a small area of red paint transfer.
