Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022

Starring in his native homeland with the famous Dynamo Moscow club for over a decade, Anatoli Semenov was drafted by Edmonton in 1989 and spent parts of eight seasons in the NHL while also representing the Soviet Union internationally. From his first NHL season, we have an Oilers jersey worn by the Moscow native in 1990-91 photo-matched to the Stanley Cup playoffs (Semenov first saw two playoff games with the Oilers in 1989-90, but did not meet the games-played requirements to be included as an official member of the Cup-winning team). A Maska label with faint handwritten “54” sizing is affixed to the collar, with “90/91 3” for the year and “Set 3” handwritten beneath, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with a layered Oilers tackle twill team crest, “19” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Semenov” across the nameplate in royal blue twill. Exhibiting heavy wear throughout including puck and stick marks, scrapes, pulls and burns, there are numerous team repairs to the sleeves and a small slit over the right elbow. There is also some pilling to the interior. A pair of screen-grab images from the Division Finals vs Los Angeles has been matched to the black mark on the middle of the reverse hem. A team LOA will accompany, along with a COR from MeiGray.
