Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
Following in the footsteps of his father who finished 16th in the 1924 Indianapolis 500, British racer Stirling Moss competed from 1948 to 1962 which included 16 Formula One Grand Prix events and won 212 races. Known for his preference for British race cars, once stating “Better to lose honourably in a British car than win in a foreign one", we offer a group of 10 vintage Moss press photos. Hailing from the 1950s/60s and ranging in size from 3 ½” x 5” to 6 ½” x 9”, the majority sport captions on the reverse, with images to include Moss at the 1953 British Grand Prix, Moss signing autographs, Moss winning the 1959 Glover Trophy, Moss in his 1960 Lotus, Moss at the 1961 German Grand Prix and others. The majority of the photos show light handing wear with the odd wrinkle, crease or dinged corner.
