Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
Enjoying a distinguished career that included eight consecutive seasons of scoring 60+ points during his time in Toronto and Chicago, Rick Vaive spent part of the 1991-92 season in the AHL with Rochester and saw action in 12 regular-season games and 16 playoff matches, and we offer an Americans jersey attributed to the 1979 fifth-overall draft selection (Vaive wore #44 with Rochester). A Maska Ultrafil label with “54” fly tag is affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM crest over the reverse hem. Styled with a patriotic stars and stripes shield team crest, “44” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with the PHPA 25th anniversary crest affixed to the right breast. The nameplate has been removed. Exhibiting nice game-use, there are marks, burns and scrapes to the material – especially over the sleeves, with red paint transfer to each elbow section. Team repairs are also present, with examples situated on the front (1) as well as the right (15) and left (1) sleeves.
