Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022

Decided by a two-game, total-goals series, the 1931-32 NHL Stanley Cup semifinals featured the eventual-champion Toronto Maple Leafs battling the Montreal Maroons, with the blue and white slipping past, 4 goals to 3. We have a program for the second game of the total goal series, which took place at MLG, on April 2, 1932. Won in overtime 3-2 on Bob Gracie's marker plotted at 17:59 of the extra period, the program lists a .15 cent purchase price, with "1931-32" handwritten. Lengthy at 72 pages, there are numerous period photos including Eddie Shore, Bob Gracie and the 1932 Canadian Olympic Hockey Team, along with ads from the Leafs' supplier Brown's Sports and Monarch-Knit featuring Charlie Conacher. The line-up page is intact but detached (there is a tear with a small piece missing), with the program suffering from heavy wear including water damage and rusting to the staples, with clear tape added along the spine. Dated by the text listing the Leafs' next possible match on the line-up page, any and all playoff programs from the height of the golden are of the blue and white seldom surface.
