Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
The only Winter Olympics graced with his on-ice presence, Wayne Gretzky would suit up for his nation on the world stage in 1998, leading Team Canada to battle the best the world had to offer. This limited-edition 1998 Winter Olympics Team Canada white jersey has been signed by The Great One. Bauer Pro labeling with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with a Bauer logo over the reverse neckline. Featuring the patriotic Hockey Canada team crest, “99” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Gretzky” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. Gretzky has signed the first reverse “9” in thin silver marker, with the signature blending into the background material. The limited-edition number of “94/99” has been added at the bottom of the second “9”, with a hologram from UDA placed above. Originally mounted in a frame, there are numerous small pinholes to the material as staples were used. A matted 5 ½” x 10” nameplate and two Hockey Canada emblems – also originally from said frame will accompany, along with a UDA COA that matches the hologram.
