Regarded as one of the most influential Canadians of the 20th century, Lester Bowles "Mike" Pearson entered office as the 14th Prime Minister of Canada in the spring of 1963, serving until 1968. Pearson’s government introduced the Order of Canada, as well as making the Maple Leaf flag the symbol of Canada. This small framed display contains personal cards/documents totaling 5, with each signed by Pearson. Included, there is a 1955 Member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association card, a 1940 Office of the High Commissioner for Canada card, a 1960 House of Commons card, a 1957 American Newspaper Guild Monthly Dues card, and a 1942 driver’s license issued by Ontario. Each has been signed by Pearson and affixed to a backing, with the group showing handling wear and toning, framed to full dimensions of just under 10” x 13”. Pearson would pass in Ottawa just after Christmas in 1972, at age 75. The Ted Lindsay Award, formerly known as the Lester B. Pearson Award, is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's most outstanding player in the regular season as judged by the members of the NHL Players' Association.
