Led on the scoresheet by Lorne Carr’s 27 goals, with Turk Borda winning 22 games, the Toronto Maple Leafs finished the 1942-43 NHL season in third place, and were defeated by Detroit in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. This stick has been team-signed by the 1942-43 Leafs including 5 HOFers. A full-size “Cho-Wood” model with stamps from Leafs supplier Love & Bennett on both sides of the lower shaft, 15 have signed one side in pencil, including HOFers Apps, Day, Pratt, Schriner and Turk Borda, along with Carr, Taylor, Stewart, Hill, Davidson, Poile, Hamilton, Forsey, McDonald and George Boothman. The majority of the signatures are worn but legible, with a name and address later carved into the opposite side of the shaft.
