Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
Featuring a large and earlier signature executed between his fourth and fifth NHL seasons while at the absolute peak of his powers, this oversized framed photo has been signed by the incomparable Wayne Gretzky (the piece appears to be cardboard, and may have been issued as a poster or advertising originally). Hailing from the collection of Norm Scully, the approx 17 ½” x 22” image of a smiling Wayne looking dapper in full suit and tie has been signed over the upper left in black marker, with a personalization to Scully, along with the date of “June/20/83”. Framed to slightly larger dimensions, the signature displays beautifully, with light wear present including to the frame. A signed LOA from Norm Scully will accompany.
Joining the Toronto Nationals of the Metro Junior B Hockey League in 1974-75 as a team trainer, Norm Scully spent a trio of seasons serving the club, including in 1976-77 when the team was renamed the Seneca Nationals and was graced by the presence of none other than Wayne Gretzky. We offer a number of items from Scully’s personal holdings from his time as trainer, including desirable pucks he collected from both the NHL and WHA.
