Lumber originating from the personal collection of Norm Scully, who served as trainer for the Seneca Nationals (MJBHL) for a few years during the mid-1970s during Wayne Gretzky’s time with the club is offered, with a group of six misc sticks. Included, we have; a Louisville Slugger “Toronto Nats” game-issued stick (The Seneca Nationals were renamed the Toronto Nationals in 1976), with “140” stamped to the upper shaft; a Wally 500 model stick attributed to Lou Nistico, with the original tape including two sets to the blade; a Louisville Slugger used by a member of the Saginaw Gears with “gears” over the lower shaft, “16” handwritten to the handle and intact “IHL” striping accents, with the original tape over the blade and shaft; a Victoriaville model stamped "Carlyle" with handwritten "Hicks" over the upper shaft, with the tape jobs intact, used by an unknown player; a Victoriaville model stamped "Mc Kenny" with handwritten "Cowboy” over the upper shaft, with the tape jobs intact, used by an unknown player, and lastly; a Titan Pro model with no name to the shaft and the original tape jobs in place. The group shows moderate to heavier game-use overall, with a signed LOA from Norm Scully to accompany.
Joining the Toronto Nationals of the Metro Junior B Hockey League in 1974-75 as a team trainer, Norm Scully spent a trio of seasons serving the club, including in 1976-77 when the team was renamed the Seneca Nationals and was graced by the presence of none other than Wayne Gretzky. We offer a number of items from Scully’s personal holdings from his time as trainer, including desirable pucks he collected from both the NHL and WHA.
