Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/2/2022
A product of the Cornwall Royals, seeing action in only 4 games with Montreal before being traded to Toronto late in 1982, Dan Daoust would enjoy a 51-point campaign in his inaugural season with the Leafs, and score 74 the following season, when the offered Leafs jersey was worn by the Montreal native in 1983-84. A laundering label with “50” sizing is affixed to the collar, with a Maska logo over the reverse hem. Styled with the classic partially-embroidered Leafs team crest, “24” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single twill, with the Toronto 150th anniversary crest residing over the right breast. We should note that the fight strap was relocated, and moved slightly higher, and mention additionally that this set saw prolonged use from the Leafs and was employed for the 1984-85 preseason, with the nameplate removed for the preseason, then later re-attached by the Leafs for the jersey to be sold (the 150th anniversary crest is original and has not been touched). Sporting nice prolonged game-use, there is wear to the material throughout, with a few small stains on the left sleeve and numerous team repairs, with examples situated over the front (13), reverse (5) and sleeves (9).
