Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022

A fantastic decades-in-the-making collection offered here will be of interest to puck connoisseurs and puck fiends who appreciate a wide variety of leagues and slugs, with beauty old Converse, CCM, Viceroy, Biltrite and Czech pucks among them. The option of cleaning up or leaving as found will be appreciated by many. 1960s and ‘70s Minor Pro pucks will carry the most appeal for some and include six Converse (screened reverse) AHL gamers (Tidewater Wings, Boston Braves), while a couple of WHL pucks include a Phoenix Roadrunners example and go further back, their Converse rubber back logo with patent number pointing to the 1967-68 season. Some great all-orange logos carry appeal, with IHL, CHL, Junior and others involved. Canadian Major Junior pucks are dominated by OHA/OHL (90+ with duplication), while headlining 40 International-related are two ‘77 World Junior Championship game pucks (Gretzky year) and a dozen ‘76 Canada Cup souvenir jobs. The WHL, QMJHL, Canadian & U.S. Colleges, ‘70s Quebec Jr. A & B pucks and European/gold logo pucks are in the mix in small quantities (20 or less), along with miscellaneous teams and advertising jobs. NHL entries (40) are mostly modern souvys, but with a scarce early ’70s souvenir Black Hawks standing out and some Non-Approved InGlasco game puck and oddball action also present. Nine unauthorized WHA logo pucks were done up in the ‘80s but still feature some cool logos. Puck collections often have minor hockey association/tournament pucks, with some six dozen here. Finally, most plentiful are 200+ Ontario Jr. A, B, C and Senior representatives, a strong majority of them with the Classic OHA logo on the back. Killer old team logos galore date back to the early-70s. Nice condition overall is to report and no junk - we pulled out the badly scraped/chipped ones - someone is going to love acquiring this fascinating variety, with pleasant surprises no doubt in store.
Joining the Toronto Nationals of the Metro Junior B Hockey League in 1974-75 as a team trainer, Norm Scully spent a trio of seasons serving the club, including in 1976-77 when the team was renamed the Seneca Nationals and was graced by the presence of none other than Wayne Gretzky. We offer a number of items from Scully’s personal holdings from his time as trainer, including desirable pucks he collected from both the NHL and WHA.
