Featuring numerous examples of rubber issued for the infamous WHA, and spanning the entirety of the league’s existence, this lot offer a WHA game puck / souvenir collection of 41. Included, we have four 1974-75 Biltrite small crest/small WHA logo pucks (Michigan, Indianapolis, Chicago and Vancouver), two 1974-75 Biltrite small crest/small AMH logo Quebec pucks, three 1972-75 Biltrite large crest/large WHA logo pucks (Minnesota, Vancouver and Houston), six 1975-78 Biltrite large crest/small WHA logo pucks (Denver, Houston, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Minnesota and New England), two 1975-77 Viceroy WHA/Viceroy reverse pucks (Quebec and Toronto), five 1974-75 Viceroy WHA reverse pucks (Toronto-3, Birmingham, Cincinnati), two 1974-75 Art Ross professional reverse pucks (Chicago and Minnesota), five 1975-76 Art Ross WHA reverse pucks (Minnesota, Indianapolis, Phoenix, New England and Houston), and a 1975-76 Czechoslovakia WHA gold reverse San Diego puck. The lot also contains an additional nine unlicensed/souvenir WHA pucks with blank backs. The majority show light to moderate wear, with a few sporting heavier wear including to the logos. Hailing from the personal collection of Norm Scully, his signed LOA will accompany.
Joining the Toronto Nationals of the Metro Junior B Hockey League in 1974-75 as a team trainer, Norm Scully spent a trio of seasons serving the club, including in 1976-77 when the team was renamed the Seneca Nationals and was graced by the presence of none other than Wayne Gretzky. We offer a number of items from Scully’s personal holdings from his time as trainer, including desirable pucks he collected from both the NHL and WHA.
