Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022

As our title indicates, several of the key cards in this group of 1952-53 Parkies have been examined and encapsulated by KSA, with Rocket’s Richard’s important (#1) card receiving a mark of 4 VGE, the same as cards of fellow Hall of Famers Terry Sawchuk, Doug Harvey and Red Kelly. The key rookie card in the set, that depicting legendary d-man Tim Horton, merited 5 EX status, as did Bernie Geoffrion’s second-year card. The majority of the raw entries mirror the slabbed segment in appearance, with VG+, VG-EX and EX examples highlighted by a Dickie Moore RC (EX) and similar cards of 44-Kennedy, 56-Gadsby, 70-Schmidt, 72-Dumart and 105-Hassard RC (OC). At VG is 21-Stanley, while sub-VG cards total 15 and include 27-Mosienko, 42-Meeker, 68-Quackenbush and 95-Bentley. Wax stains on the front of 15 cards are notable and we spot some cards that measure markedly short or narrow, suggesting trimming. Stars joining Gordie Howe on the “not present” list are 6-Lach, 12-McNeil, 13-Bouchard, 22-Rayner, 31-Rollins, 34-Boivin RC, 46-Watson, 51-Armstrong RC, 53-Delvecchio, 59-Lumley, 74-Henry and 87-Lindsay, along with #s 29, 40, 62, 64, 71, 79, 84, 89, 97,102, 103 and 104. All sorts of options are what you’ll have after scoring these classic blasts from the past.
