Forgoing his senior season with the University of Wisconsin Badgers to sign a three-year entry level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2011-12, Jake Gardiner spent parts of eight seasons in Ontario, and also represented the US internationally. This photo-matched Leafs jersey was worn by Gardiner in 2016-17. A label with “58” sizing resides over the inner collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Featuring a vintage style Leafs team crest with “Toronto Maple Leafs” embroidered, “51” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in oversized blue twill, with “Gardiner” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. The jersey also sports the NHL centennial crest over the right sleeve, with “2” handwritten to the fight strap to denote second set. Sporting light to moderate game-use, there are a few faint burns and marks visible, with two fairly large team repairs near the left elbow. Getty Image #648285186 (Feb 28, 2017) has been matched to the dark streak over the right shoulder, with the shape and placement identical, with the extended threading at the top of the right sleeve/shoulder seam also visible. The team patch resides on the inside hem, with a COA matching the serial number to accompany from the Leafs.
