Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022

Brother of Hall of Fame d-man Sylvio Mantha, Georges Mantha was a Stanley Cup champion in his first two full seasons with the Canadiens, scoring five goals in 10 playoffs games when Morenz, Joliat and company defended their Cup title in the spring of 1931. This card is a champion of sorts too, garnering a lofty mark of NM 7 upon its examination numerous years ago at PSA. It is a Pop 1, while a NM-MT 8 (with qualifier) and seven EX-MT 6s are most noteworthy among the 57 total submissions of card #22 in O-Pee-Chee's inaugural hockey card effort. Light wear at the four corners, most noticeable at the bottom right corner when viewing the back, has one questioning whether a similar mark would be attained using today's standards, while others will question, "why have the standards changed?!" Multiple light scratches and scuffs to the PSA holder are also to note, but definitely a special rookie card to up your GPA.
