Legendary Canadiens, Maple Leafs and Red Wings headline the lineup in this rather attractive mid-grade Parkie ensemble from the season when Toronto started its three-year run as Stanley Cup champs, with the rookie card of an important cog in the Leafs’ success, Dave Keon, leading the way. Coveted card #5 is a crease-free EX example and joined by cards in the EX to EX+ range and others shy of EX at VG-EX and VG-EX+. Keys at EX-or-better include Howe (EX), 7-Shack, 25-Delvecchio, 26-Ullman, 35-Geoffrion and 45-Beliveau, with the latter exhibiting subtle stains on the back (at two corners) from vintage photo album “triangles.” A Jacques Plante card displays as an EX entry at first glance but two tiny light corner creases send its technical grade to VG+, the same as 31-Sawchuk (small crease near a corner), with Terry’s card one of the few with evidence of a coin having been (lightly) rubbed across the punch line on the back. Enough corner wear renders 2-Mahovlich and 43-Richard VG-EX, while at VG are 1-Horton and 3-Bower. For those not fond of obvious/unsightly creases but who do not require high, high grade, this assembly will be an appreciated acquisition.
