Guarding the Pittsburgh Penguins crease throughout the majority of playoff matches during the club’s second-consecutive Stanley Cup championship in 2016-17, Marc-Andre Fleury won 9 of his 15 postseason contests, with the Pens defeating the Washington Capitals in an exciting seven-game final. This signed stick was used by the five-time All-Star late in the season, and is photo-matched to an April 8, 2017 game vs Toronto. A CCM Pro model with “Fleury” factory graphics over the upper shaft, the original white tape is in place over the blade and knob (there is a tear, with a small section torn away), with a black marker signature applied to the upper paddle that displays nicely. Exhibiting thorough game-use with puck marks covering both sides of the taped blade, there is also a bit of chipping at the underside of the heel, with some additional marks and small chips to the shaft. Considerable red paint transfer is also visible, including over the top edge of the blade, the shaft and the knob. Getty Images #666564676 and #666564848 (April 8, 2017) have both been matched to numerous dark marks on the shaft and blade. A signed LOA from the Fleury family will accompany.
