Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022

Vintage and modern encapsulated cards of Jackie Robinson offered here include eye appeal and are thought-provoking, with the trailblazer’s classic 1955 Topps card recently inspected and graded FR 1.5 by PSA. A few small light creases are not all that detracting, with wear to and rounding of the corners also visible. The back informs of Jackie topping the .300 mark for the sixth consecutive season the previous year and of his MVP award in 1949. Meanwhile, the sight of a piece of a Dodgers jersey that Robinson wore in a game and a piece of a Dodgers jacket that he also donned gets a guy to thinking (cool!), with the legend’s ’49 MVP award saluted below on a 2004 Playoff Prime Cuts card. It earned 9 MINT recognition at Beckett, with the following sub grades also appearing on the label: Centering 9.5, Corners 8.5, Edges 9.5 and Surface 9. No scratches to the two holders are to report, while a bonus throw-in is a reprint of the legend’s 1949 Leaf rookie card, slabbed Gem MT 10 by GMA.
