Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
Scoring just under a-point-a-game throughout his 80 contests during the 1984-85 NHL season, Montreal Canadiens star Mats Naslund would net his only four-goal game of his career that season, and we offer an attractive plaque he received that features one of his goal pucks mounted from the game (presumably the fourth and final goal). Achieving the feat on Dec 3, 1984 vs Hartford at the Forum, the Habs would decisively defeat the Whalers 9-3. At 10” x 15”, the finished wooden plaque with beveled edges sports the puck over the center as well as an affixed and engraved plate with mounted enamel Canadiens crest above, with the text stating “Mats Naslund” and “First Four Goal Night”, with the date listed along with the time of each goal and those assisting. The plaque shows wear, with scratches to the engraved plate along with two of the securing nails missing (the plate remains firmly attached). Naslund has signed the reverse in black marker, with a COA for the signature to accompany.
