Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/2/2022
Considered rare by collectors of Canadian Football League material is this nifty ensemble of little slides, accompanied by a (banana) yellow plastic viewer and picturing players who were selected to the 1971 CFL All-Star Team or played in the 1972 (pre-season) All-Star Game. The players are pictured in their All-Star jerseys, with the lineup led by Joe Theisman, George Reed, Garney Henley, Tommy Joe Coffey, Jim Young, Peter Dalla Riva and Terry Evanshen. The thick cardboard affairs feature two photos of a player, (although they combine to create just one image when placed in the viewer), along with a short write-up and then can be flipped over to show another player. The offered set exhibits only minimal handling and wear, with just one example lightly creased, while a corner ding affects approximately half. A few light scratches to the (functioning) viewer are also to note. Seldom-seen images of All-Star uniforms are very cool to check out. If you've seen these in guides but have never had a chance at them, now's the time to click, click or tap, tap and score a "major!" .....The slide numbers and players are as follows: #1/2 Baker & Sugarman, #3/4 Giardino & Dalla Riva, #5/6 McQuay & Thorpe, #7/8 Reed & Campbell, #9/10 Coffey & Evanshen, #11/12 Young & Kosmo, s#13/14 Forwick & Abendschan, #15/16 Jonas & Marcellin, #17/18 Theisman & Corrigall, #19/20 George & Dupuis, #21/22 Dushinski & Swift, #23/24 Lagrone & Danychuk and #25/26 Henley & Williams.
