Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
A peerless innovator who spent his life in hockey was Art Ross, the man who organized the Boston Bruins in 1924 and who was featured, along with other NHL coaches, in World Wide Gum's interesting and unique 1937-38 hockey card issue. Younger folks and those who are not hockey historians may not know that Ross was a, (like the informative bilingual write-up on the back commences), "Great player in his day" and yes, the Art Ross Trophy, awarded to the NHL scoring champion each season, was named after him. This example of card #96 has been given a rather generous mark of 5 EX by KSA, given that two creases and dinged/partially rounded corners are observed. Still an attractive specimen, the likes of which are offered very infrequently, will contribute admirably to your vintage card stash.
