Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
From the good old Parkhurst era comes this surely-of-interest group, with seven 1953-54 Parkies leading chronologically and highlighted by a scarce #91-Fleming Mackell card with full bio. Some uneven toning is on the front of the crease-free EX example, with 1-Harry Lumley (G) and a beauty EX-MT+ 51-John Wilson also notable and joined by 99-Gardner (EX+) and three in the VG neighborhood; 8-Thomson, 70-P. Conacher and 71-Hucul. Representing 1955-56 is Tim Horton’s (G+) card (side-to-side crease), while Allan Stanley’s card #1 from ’63-64 is similar, with its side-to-side crease near the bottom of the card. And now on to the advertised portion of ’57-58s. None of the biggies/toughies are present but barely a crease is observed, along with some varying degrees of toning. A majority are EX-or-better, with rookie cards of Goyette, Provost and 21-Broderick amid the Canadiens, along with an EX-MT Toe Blake card and two of 24-Geoffrion sidesteps Chadwick. There’s a Maple Leafs run from numbers 6 to 16 (James RC, Nykoluk RC) and then rookie cards of 18-Girard, 21-Cullen and 23-Collins, with coach Reay completing. Two extras of 13-Bolton (VG+, VG) are also included.
