Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
The genesis of Major League Baseball played outside the United States, the Montreal Expos serve as the first non-American club to grace the American pastime’s greatest league. Beginning play in 1969 in the NL East Division, the Expos first home game at Jarry Park occurred on April 14, 1969, and we offer a pair of rare Opening Game ticket stubs. Defeating the St Louis Cardinals 8-7 in front of almost 30,000 newly-christened Montreal baseball fans, the 2 ½” x 5” stubs have “1969” and “Opening Game” printed, with a home schedule on each reverse. The pair remain in excellent condition, sporting light handling and minor corner wear, with clear tape residue on the front and reverse of one stub, with this small area of residue repeated on just the reverse of the second stub.
