Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022

Appearing as though they’ve been tucked away since having been placed in 9-pocket pages decades ago are the cards in two binders offered here, with Patrick Roy’s important rookie card leading the way. Other than less-than-perfect centering and a bit of roughness along the top edge, it’s very hard to find fault with card #53 – NM-MT is our verdict, with that of others possibly a notch higher. A vertical black line in the middle third of the left edge of Mario Lemieux’s second-year (off-centered) card is to be aware of, while NM, NM+, NM-MT, NM-MT+ and MINT entries appear to be what’s involved with the rest. Missing for completion of the 1986-87 set are #16 Andreychuk and #171 Chelios. Brett Hull’s RC displays appealing centering and comes in at NM-MT, while the rest of the ’88-89 issue also looks real sharp, the (overall good) centering striking the beholder, but with a small crease spotted in the Patrick Roy card. Rookie cards of Clark, Vanbiesbrouck, Shanahan, Nieuwendyk, Turgeon and Probert are among the others you’ll be acquiring when securing these 500-plus cards.
