Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
His first of two clubs represented in the CHL, Mike Hordy skated for the Fort Worth Texans in two stints. First, he saw action in just two games with the club in 1976-77, followed by a pair of seasons in Texas after time with the IHL’s Muskegon Mohawks. From his time in Fort Worth, we have a Texans jersey worn by Hordy during the 1977-79 time frame, accompanied by a framed Texans team photo that pictures Hordy. A partially-detached Rawlings label with “46” sizing is affixed to the collar, with a skate-lace/loop-style fight strap utilized. Featuring an embroidered twill team crest, “2” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill. Sporting good game-use, there are a number of marks, pulls and scrapes, with some staining over the shoulders and reverse. There is also heavy pilling to the interior sleeves along with three team repairs to the sleeves. The team photo is 8” x 10” and set in a slightly larger frame. The Texans won the league title in 1977-78 and were playoff champions, winning the Adams Cup. Hordy finished as the team’s top scorer – quite impressive for a defenceman. A signed LOA from Mike Hordy will accompany.
