Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
More affordable than Sidney Crosby’s high, high-end rookie cards but still carrying interesting weight and appeal is the offered example, found at the outset of Sid’s remarkable career in packs of Upper Deck’s SPx product. A piece of a Penguins jersey joins Crosby’s image and his classic autograph, penned in blue ink, with a golden stamped “390/499” also on the front. The Beckett grading department recently examined and encapsulated the special pack pull, the surface of which denied a higher mark than the 8.5 NM-MT+ sum that appears on the label. The autograph received a none-better grade of “10” while the following sub grades shed light on the card’s final mark: Centering 10, Corners 9, Edges 9.5 and Surface 7.5. In a holder without scratches or other notable flaws, the eye candy will be a fine addition to your Crosby/RC shrine.
