Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022

Ever-popular, all-time greats Orr and Gretzky star here, with four dozen Bobby cards dating back to a couple of “specials” from 1969-70 and followed up by dozens, including duplicates, of classics from Orr’s prolific NHL days. No high grade examples stand out; you can expect mostly respectable low/mid-grade material, with some better and our images revealing the lineup. A modern 1976 Canada Cup card features a bold black autograph and recalls Bobby’s last hurrah, so to speak, when he earned tournament MVP honors – what a performance! Two second-year Wayne Gretzky cards have corner wear and small peripheral creasing (G to VG), as do three other OPCs, with ’72-73 OPC Team Canada inserts and autographed cards also in the mix. A complete 28-card Team Canada set is mostly in the VG to VG-EX range, while autographed cards include those signed by Dionne (3), Shutt (2), Parisé (2), Perreault, Henderson, White, Dennis Hull, Desjardins, Crisp (2) and others. A few Coke caps from the ‘60s and miscellaneous cards complete, with “The Howes” from ’73-74 (EX (ST)), ’72-73 OPC #228-Hull All-Star (EX) and a ’72-73 unmarked #334-3rd Series Checklist (More WHA Hockey Stars)(EX-MT) upping the allure. Lots of break-up value will be coming your way if you’re the high bidder here.
