A third-round draft pick in 1998, Alexei Ponikarovsky spent seasons with Dynamo Moscow before making his NHL debut with Toronto, in 2000-01. Spending the lockout season of 2004-05 with Khimik Voskresensk, Ponikarovsky wore this photo-matched Toronto Maple Leafs jersey the following season, in 2005-06. A label with “58” sizing is affixed to the collar, with Reebok and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the familiar Leafs team crest with embroidered detailing, “23” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. Sporting nice game-use with a few marks visible, there are also burns with unrepaired holes over the left shoulder and each sleeve. Getty Image #55925165 (Oct 8, 2005) has been matched to the red mark over the “2” of “23” on the left sleeve, with the extended white thread at the center of the alternate crest on the right shoulder also visible. A MeiGray patch numbered “C09702” is affixed to the inside hem that matches the accompanying LOA, and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a "Blue Set 2" specimen.
