Later dubbed "Super Mario," Montreal native Mario Lemieux did not disappoint in his first NHL campaign following his record-breaking junior career with the Laval Voisins, his rookie season statistics of 43 goals and an even 100 points appearing here on the back of his desirable 1985-86 O-Pee-Chee rookie card. The young star then thoroughly impressed his peers in his second big league season ('85-86), evidenced by them voting Lemieux recipient of the Lester B. Pearson Trophy as the league's outstanding player as selected by the NHL Players' Association, ending a four-year run by Mr. Gretzky. This example of card #9 recently received a pleasing mark of NM 7 at PSA, with a light touch to the top left corner observed and no notable condition issues with the holder itself.
