Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
Featuring members of the Montreal Royals, Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Athletics who competed in the AAA caliber International League and not often found/offered in quantity are little Parkhurst cards like these, with this group an acceptable low grade gathering. Fair and Good cards combine to account for most, with smaller percentages of G+ and VG examples also contributing. The last ten numbered cards (Ottawa subjects) are lesser (P) due to heavier wear and stains but there is no back damage throughout. One hundred cards make for a set, with 22 of them being instructional cards or with play diagrams. None of the latter are present, meaning just three player cards are missing; #53-Ezra McGlothin, 68-Jim Gilliam and 86-Lou Limmer. Highlighting the lineup are members of the Brooklyn Dodgers organization (with Montreal at the time), with Tommy Lasorda (G) best condition-wise and joined by (F) examples of Johnny Podres, manager Walter Alston, Don Hoak and Rocky Nelson. Also notable is Jean-Pierre Roy (with Ottawa), former Negro Leaguers Dan Bankhead, Jim Pendleton and Charles White and a card picturing Toronto's Maple Leaf Stadium. A nifty Canadian issue awaits your vintage card stash.
