Born on the exact same day, (October 5, 1965) were Mario Lemieux and Patrick Roy, with their respective rookie cards the focal point of these two O-Pee-Chee sets. It appears as though the storage method has affected the Lemieux RC; difficult to describe but somewhat of a grainy feel with tiny surface wrinkles (not really creases), along with light toning is to be aware of, and otherwise EX. Among the rest of the 264-card set, a corner ding or more is observed with a fair amount and we would say EX, EX+ and EX-MT examples outnumber NM-or-better cards, with 237-MacInnis RC (NM), 120-Gretzky (VG-EX+) and 29-Yzerman (EX+) notable and 262-Lemieux League Leader a condition exception at G. Meanwhile, an EX-MT Roy RC anchors the '86-87 assembly, with a light (bottom left) corner ding and somewhat of a rough cut along the bottom edge to mention. Although intermittent corner touches are spotted, they're fewer than in the previous set, with plenty of NM-MTs to come upon and a NM (or very close to it) average to report. The second-year Mario is off-centered with three corner touches/dings and EX at best, with Wendel Clark (NM) and John Vanbiesbrouck (EX-MT) rookies also contributing.
