Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
Leading Winnipeg to the promise land during his fourth season in The Peg, Bobby Hull and the Jets were crowned Avco Cup champions in 1975-76 – the first of three WHA championships in just four seasons, with The Golden Jet scoring a lofty 123 points in 80 regular-season games. This signed stick was used by the iconic superstar during the Avco Cup championship season of 1975-76, and it originates from the personal collection of teammate and Summit Series star Pat Stapleton. A Northland Custom Pro model with “B. Hull” stamped to the upper shaft, there is a production number on the underside, with most of the striping accent intact. The original black tape remains on the blade and shaved handle, with the blade showing signs of being heated and curved. Great game-use is shown with a crack to the blade and wear to the underside along with additional wear and marks to the blade and shaft. Hull added a dark ink signature over the shaft with “1975” along with a personalization to Stapleton's son, with light wear/fading to the signature and inscription. An LOA from the Stapleton family will accompany.
