Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
Several decades are represented here, with an even 40 Parade Sportive pictures on thin paper stock dating back to the 1940s dominated by examples (21) featuring Montreal Canadiens. Other than a tear in a Lamoureux-Durnan-Bouchard trio, condition looks first-rate (crease and tear-free), with Toe Blake and a ’46-47 Habs team picture leading the lineup. Non-Montreal notables are Hall of Famers Cowley, Lindsay and Broda, with an infrequently-seen one-sided Parade Sportive Christmas card (green ink on thin card stock) a splendid complement. Fabulous color shots taken by famed photographer Harold Barkley are featured in a set of 42 high grade ’63-64 Toronto Star pictures, tastefully displayed in two-pocket pages and a binder – superb – with a Hockey Tips From The Stars booklet also present. Colgate “Heads” from ’72-73 include ten different along with five short prints (Dionne, Lafleur, Mahovlich, Martin, Park), with the same ten then appearing again (Cournoyer, Dryden, Henderson, Orr, Plante, Ratelle, Tallon, Tkaczuk, Ullmann and Unger) and then another 11 duplicates (the same ten plus Sanderson). Also from the ‘70s are five 5-card intact panels of Quaker WHA cards; three of them have Cheevers and Lacroix, with Bobby Hull starring on two others. Four of the five are NM-or-better, while seldom-seen in unopened form are five ’76-77 Colorado Rockies Puck Bucks – cool. Penguins Puck Bucks from ’77-78 total 50 and include two complete sets of 18 (with tabs). Miscellaneous sets also involved are ’72-73 WHA Los Angeles Sharks (19), ’81-82 TCMA (two 13-card sets) and ’90-91 L.A. Kings Smokey (24). Kudos to our consignor for the overall top-notch condition of these neat collectibles.
