Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/2/2022
Forever in the hearts of Canadians as the hero of the 1972 Canada-Russia series, scoring the paramount goal that crushed the Soviets and reinforced our nation’s hockey supremacy, Paul Henderson signed the offered Team Canada jersey, and it is accompanied by a 40th anniversary limited-edition commemorative Team Canada watch with display case (limited to 5,000). First, the Hockey Heritage “Team of the Century” jersey was produced by DWG with “L” sizing affixed to the collar, with rising maple leaf over the front and “Canada” and “19” on the reverse in single red twill. Henderson has signed over the left breast in thin black marker, with the signature displaying well. The watch features a “Team Canada ‘72” dial, with “1972 Summit Series” engraved to the side of the case, with the watch still sealed and never used. A limited-edition card set and COA accompany the watch, with all three items in the original 6 ½” x 5” x 3” rosewood presentation box (there is a bit of wear to the box).
