Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Not one but two Mario Lemieux rookie cards, both joined by the rest of O-Pee-Chee’s 1985-86 hockey card effort, are offered up for your consideration here. We see the Mario example with superior centering as an EX-MT representative due to minor corner issues, while the other is a notch or two below, with a lightly dinged top left corner, near where a half-inch surface scratch can be detected. Four minuscule surface indentations up in that region are also to note. As for all the supporting cast members, they’ve been stored in 9-pocket pages, with the pulled key/star cards, along with some random pulls, revealing impressive sharp examples, for the most part. Dozens and dozens of NM-MT-or-better beauties are to be zeroed-in on, although there are a few noteworthy exceptions discovered in the “second” binder. Inferior to its counterpart is the Al MacInnis RC (EX+ compared to the better NM entry), while with a noticeable flaw are Yzerman (small crease), Neely (dinged corner), and 262-Lemieux Rookie Leader (two touched corners), with the other 262-Mario actually also with a corner ding All the checklists are unmarked, with one of the 256s marred by numerous diagonal creases. All-in-all though, NM-or-better cards are generally what to anticipate, with one ’85-86 OPC wrapper (small tear) a nifty complement.
