Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A defenceman for the famous UND hockey program for two seasons, Geoff Smith represented Canada at the World Juniors before his first season with the Edmonton Oilers, in 1989-90. After parts of five seasons with the club, Smith also played for the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers. Hailing from just his third NHL season, we have an Oilers jersey worn by the hometown defender in 1991-92. A Maska label is affixed to the collar along with a size “54” fly tag, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with the classic oil drop team crest in layered tackle twill, “25” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with the NHL 75th anniversary crest residing over the right breast. Exhibiting light game-use, there are a few random marks visible, with faint burns and a small hole near the left elbow. An LOA from the Oilers will accompany, along with a COR from MeiGray.
