Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

A VG-in-appearance Bobby Orr rookie card anchors this technically lower grade 1966-67 Topps ensemble that features some subtle and not-so-subtle issues on the back of the cards. The cards have had but one owner who once affixed them, with a light, sometimes-barely-detectable tape-like stain (approximately one inch in length) on the middle back, with a one-inch crease also spotted in the Orr RC; a vertical job descending from the top edge to the right of Bobby and the Leafs on-ice player. We count 50 cards that also have a more apparent brownish stain on the reverse, in a corner or edge region, with paper loss (from removal) affecting seven, including 62-Mikita, 77-Mahovlich and 126-Hall All-Star. Approximately 50 examples have an obvious crease (1-Blake, 109-Howe, 112-Hull, 64-Hull Leading Scorer), the latter signed by Bobby in blue ballpoint in 1989 at the Hall of Fame in Kingston. The cards throughout however do not exhibit any heavy corner/edge wear and would display decently...in 9-pocket pages is our thought. Otherwise in the VG, VG+ and VG-EX range in appearance are most, with some otherwise EX examples also present. A present to yourself is an idea, with checklist #120 not present and paper loss (front) to report with the multi-creased (unmarked) #66 checklist. Check out our images and let us know – a respectable Bobby Orr rookie can be had here.
