Paul Henderson, the man to whom a nation will be forever grateful, appears here on his 1965-66 Topps rookie card, the write-up on the back summarizing his NHL start, “This young right winger made excellent strides in first full season in NHL, killing penalties, taking an occasional turn, without missing a game. If you missed some of or are not old enough to remember the epic 1972 Canada-Russia Series, Henderson was a Russian killer some years later, scoring not only the game-winner in Game 8 of the series, but also the sixth and seventh games – amazing! Two not-perfectly-sharp corners at the top of card #51 here deny it a higher mark than the 7 NM it received from KSA, with side-to-side centering obviously off. From a popular puck issue and featuring a popular national hero, this charming card awaits its new appreciative home, with the scratch-free KSA holder exhibiting but one tiny scuff.
