Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A second-round draft choice of the Ottawa Senators in 1994, selected ahead of Jose Theodore, Mathieu Dandenault and Patrik Elias, Stanislav Neckar made his NHL debut for the club in 1994-95 and spent parts of five seasons in the nation’s capital. This Senators jersey was worn by Neckar in 1995-96, his second season, where he appeared in all 82 games. A Maska Ultafil label and size “56” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the lower reverse hem. Styled with a textured team crest that saw use throughout the 1990s, the white V-neck has been accented with “94” over the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with the “18 Smitty” patch over the right breast to honour murdered Ottawa sportscaster Brian Smith. Sporting heavy use throughout, there are a number of dark marks, pulls, small stains and areas of paint transfer, with rusting to the fight strap clasps. There are also numerous team repairs, with examples on front (4), reverse (1) and sleeves (19).
