Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Loudly announcing his arrival to the hockey world at large with a four-goal performance in his first NHL contest, Auston Matthews enjoyed a successful inaugural season that included scoring 69 points in 82 games while earning the Calder Memorial as the league’s top rookie. From his first season, we have a signed stick used by the young star. A Bauer Nexus 1N model with “Matthews” factory graphics, the lower shaft has been blacked-out – common for this model of stick used by Matthews his first season – with the original white tape over the blade and blue cloth with reinforcing white strand over the handle with “34” handwritten. A small hand drawn cross has been added to the back of the handle, with “Skrt” in silver along the reverse heel. Matthews has placed a large blue marker signature across the front side blade that displays well.
Sporting light to moderate game-use, there are puck marks to the taped section of blade including a tear, with a few marks and surface abrasions to the lower shaft.
