The Edmonton Oilers jumped on the opportunity to select Ryan Nugent-Hopkins with the first overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft. Nugent-Hopkins signed the right glove of this pair of his 2010-11 WHL Red Deer Rebels game-used gloves from the season that cemented him going with the No. 1 pick overall after he recorded 31 goals and 75 assists for 106 points in 67 games with Red Deer. Nugent-Hopkins placed a silver paint pen signature above the thumb on the cuff of the right glove of his pair of CCM V08 gloves, each of which have “Rebels” on the front of the cuff. Both gloves exhibit game wear in the form of marks and scuffs, as well as wear to the palms, which have both been patched for repairs, though the patch on the right palm wore free and part of it hangs loose, revealing the previous hole that wore through the original fabric. A digital image of Nugent-Hopkins appears to show the cut to the left of the CCM logo on the left glove cuff, and the image also shows the correct wear pattern to the CCM lettering on the thumb.
