Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

The two teams which would meet in that season’s Stanley Cup finals, the Canadiens and Maple Leafs, are rather impressive in this 1958-59 Parkhurst set, with hardly a crease spotted and EX and EX+ cards combining to dominate, with a lesser percentage making it “only” to VG-EX or VG-EX+) but others attaining EX-MT. Generally, nice flat cards exhibit very little handling and boast clean surfaces, with corner touches or light corner wear observed. Although wax stains on the back, common with this issue, affect a dozen cards, none are big names, with only 23-Stanley, 39-Plante/Action around the net and 45-Pulford to note. Now to the keys and exceptions. An otherwise EX Maurice Richard card has a smidgen of paper loss on the front (near the right edge (middle)), with the only small crease throughout sending 33-Mahovlich to VG+ and poor centering to mention with 22-Plante (VG-EX+). Card #1-Pulford comes close is a little warped from a rubber band and VG-EX, the same as 2-Henri Richard and 50-Cullen. For those of you who detest creases but don’t require razor-sharp corners, this ensemble should prove alluring and satisfying.
